Difass obtains an Italian patent on a formulation with alpha-lipoic acid
The 19th October 2018, Difass International obtained patent n. 102016000038393 entitled “Use of a composition containing alpha-lipoic acid” that will last twenty years, until the 14th April 2036.
 
This is a patent on the use of a composition comprising alpha-lipoic acid and/or a derivative thereof, and at least a soluble fructan, to improve the organoleptic characteristics of alpha-lipoic acid in products for oral use. In fact, it has been found that the association of a long and/or short-chain soluble fructan with alpha-lipoic acid and/or a derivative thereof leads to a substantial improvement of the unpleasant odor typical of lipoic acid and reduces the perception of "pungent taste", which usually occurs in different areas of the oral cavity after administration.

Obtaining this patent is a confirmation of an interesting discovery for the company, which has always been at the forefront of innovation and research to create effective solutions for physicians and their patients.
